Every Door is a Piece of Art
A Wildlife Sanctuary in Wood: Commissioned Doors for a US Client (Both Kudu and Nyala doors)
Commissioned by a client in the United States, this magnificent Kudu door captures the serene beauty of the Kudu in its natural habitat. The client envisioned a piece that reflected their appreciation for African wildlife, and we worked closely with them to bring his vision to life. The centerpiece is a meticulously hand-carved Kudu, its graceful form and distinctive horns rendered with exceptional detail. Notice the texture of its coat, the delicate curve of its ears, and the powerful musculature of its legs. The surrounding environment is equally captivating, with a hand-carved tree reaching upwards, its branches and leaves adding depth and context to the scene. The client specifically requested a tree and some grass exactly like the pictures he offered, which we incorporated seamlessly into the design. Crafted from mahogany, this door serves as a stunning testament to the client's passion for wildlife and the artistry of hand-carved wood.
Ai Powered Kudu Carved Pivot Door
Complementing the Kudu door, this second commissioned piece showcases the elegance of the Nyala, another iconic African animal. Again, working closely with our US-based client, we translated their vision into a stunning work of art. The Nyala stands proudly, its distinctive markings and spiraled horns brought to life through intricate carving. The texture of its fur and the subtle nuances of its expression are a testament to the skill of our master carvers. The inclusion of the tree on this door mirrors the design of the Kudu door, creating a sense of visual harmony between the two pieces. The client's input was invaluable in ensuring that every detail, from the animal's pose, surrounding foliage, to the overall composition, perfectly reflected their aesthetic preferences. Constructed with tonon and mortise joinery, this door, like its counterpart, is a unique and personalized expression of the client's love for wildlife and their commitment to incorporating natural beauty into their home.
Client Collaboration: The collaborative process with the client was essential to the success of this project. We began with initial sketches based on their ideas and reference images, and then refined the designs through several iterations, incorporating their feedback at every stage.
